High Temperature Load Cells
The average load cell only has a maximum compensated temperature
range of -15ºF to +115ºF. Like any resistor, it is subject to change in
value or decrease in accuracy above or below the range and will eventually fail.
National Scale has devoted considerable time to developing high
temperature load cells that will tolerate temperatures up to 400ºF and still be accurate.
This involves the use of special strain gauges, adhesives, solder, teflon wiring,
resistors, and potting compounds.
In addition, the high temperature load cells are tested and
compensated in our environmental test chambers at the specified temperature.
We have numerous successful applications throughout industry using
high temperature load cells where normal load cells would not survive because of the
temperature.
