National Scale Technology builds custom load cells because we realize that not every weighing application is suitable for an "off the shelf" load cell.

Our engineering department has over twenty five years experience in the design of load cells and weighing applications. These include custom made load cells with special capacities, dimensions, and accuracy requirements.

We also manufacture load cells that have been discontinued by the original manufacturer, thus avoiding complete replacement of the scale. In short, don't limit your scale solutions to what you see in a catalog, even ours.

Shown to the left is an example of a load cell that was custom built for tank weighing at a chocolate factory. Here in the rocket city (Huntsville, AL), we affectionately have referred to these as the "rockets".

The customer needed a much taller cell for their mounting than normal. National Scale Technology made a stainless steel, shear web load cell on a tall mount to achieve the height desired. This application has eight tanks, four load cells each, with two different mounting heights. The load cells have a custom thread in the center and will screw right onto their leg instead of a nut.
